Doesn’t your emergency deserve a doctor? Suburban Emergency Associates is the only emergency medicine practice in the Twin Cities that has made a commitment to have every patient evaluated and treated exclusively by physicians. Emergency department patients present with uncertain and potentially life-threatening conditions that we are convinced are best assessed by a board-certified emergency physician. Given the choice, we believe that patients and families prefer a physician for their emergency department evaluation. We maintain this commitment to physician evaluations for all emergency conditions because we believe it is right for our patients. Furthermore, the American Board of Emergency Medicine agrees this should be the standard.

We do use highly-experienced nurse practitioners and physician assistants in our urgent care for conditions that are well-defined and limited in nature. We feel they have a strong role throughout our healthcare system where conditions are limited and focused.
